Popular MMA promotion New Breed Fighters will be bringing their unique brand of Entertainment to Philadelphia’s Legendary Tower Theater.

On September 8, 2012 Live Nation will be introducing the fastest growing sport in the World to The Tower Theater. One of the Most Historic Venues in the land will be
embracing one of the most exciting promotions in the land. There is great anticipation in uniting the fast paced action of MMA with these acoustically friendly confines.  This Hallowed Hall, steeped in history and tradition, will never be the same.

On Saturday September 15, 2012,  New Breed Fighters XXXVIII will be featured on THE COMCAST NETWORK’S new prime time series “SATURDAY
NIGHT FIGHTS” . The show will be re aired Sunday September 16 on COMCAST SPORTSNET.

In 2006 New Breed Fighters President & CEO R. Scott Morgan attended a poorly run MMA event at a high school in Voorhees, N.J.  After putting on that one show, the operator of the event had exhausted his finances and alienated his partners. Fortunately for the MMA community Mr. Morgan had a vision and proposed to rescue the floundering promotion through a partnership whereby he would promote a sport he loved in an environment fitting of its worthy participants. He wanted to create an opportunity for young athletes to test their skills in the immediate surroundings that would maximize their ability to learn and grow and put them “One Step Closer” to their goals and dreams. He also wanted those many fans of the exploding sport to have a destination where they could go to thoroughly enjoy the beauty and superior entertainment Mixed Martial Arts provides.

In February of 2007 CMTM, LLC, d/b/a; New Breed Fighters was officially and legally formed and Trademarked. While Mr. Morgan fulfilled his promise and became the first promoter to put amateur athletes in a professional Casino environment in Atlantic City, NJ, we are also the first promotion to get amateurs the privilege of fighting on mainstream TV in some 6 million homes nationally and still growing.  July 2010 will mark the thirty first and thirty second successful and professional events promoted by New Breed Fighters.

Unfortunately it didn’t take long for Mr. Morgan to realize his vision to promote a sport and its worthy participants was not in coherence with his partner’s vision. His partner’s vision was of self promotion at the expense of our dedicated and hardworking employees. Not to mention the many academies who are striving for recognition and success.

In February 2008 Mr. Morgan bought out his partner and New Breed Fighters and has since developed into the premier MMA experience in the Northeast. All of which could never have happened without the loyal support of the growing MMA community and all those who have become a part of the New Breed Fighter family.

February 2010 saw NBF debut in the professional arena in typical NBF fashion.  HDNet’s “Inside MMA” named two of our fights as the best two in the nation for the week. Quite the honor.

It is at this point where we want to take this opportunity and thank everyone who has contributed to the success of New Breed Fighters. Over 400 competitors and hundreds of teams have had the opportunity to nurture their skills and market their schools in our cage and at our events. Over 30 fighters have graduated to the professional ranks. We thank them and all the fans that have come to expect and support the first class experience only found at a New Breed Fighters event.

New Jersey’s role in helping to grow mixed martial arts (MMA) into the spectator extravaganza it is today may exceed that of any other state. Likewise, a promotional company called New Breed Fighters (NBF) has been at the forefront of offering the athletes themselves a springboard from which to start, and a forum in which to work.

Under the direction of Scott Morgan, NBF has staged a series of events in Atlantic City with increasing popularity, including two full slates of bouts scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 30-May 1, at Resorts Superstar Theater. Saturday’s 13-bout fight card will mark the 30th event put on by NBF since it came to Atlantic City in May 2007. All of the fighters involved are of amateur status, and many will be making their debut in the ring of combat.

“We first did fights at House of Blues, then for about the past two years we’ve held them at Resorts,” says Morgan, NBF’s president and CEO. “It’s a tough racket and was a bit of a struggle at first, but we’ve added an element of professionalism and entertainment value to the product that we deliver. I have done professional events successfully, but the majority of my shows are for amateur athletes. It’s a developmental program that we’re a part of. My concept is to put young, rising athletes into a professional environment that puts professional demands on them.”

Friday night’s main event will pit Mike “The Inferno” Andrillo against Dan “Bear” Hughes for the NBF junior heavyweight (210-pound limit) title. Andrillo is 4-1 as an amateur, Hughes is 3-2. Saturday has two main events. Unbeaten Jordan Stiner (3-0) will face Tom Philippi (4-2) for the NBF super welterweight (154-pound limit) belt, and Kyle Rigby (4-3) will take on unbeaten Brandon Van Cleeve (3-0) for the light heavyweight title (175 pounds).

“We’ve been averaging about eight [events] a year, and we’re fortunate to have increased our casual fan base,” adds Morgan. “Our fighters’ friends and family constitute the majority of our fan base, but we have seen, especially since we moved to Resorts, that the demographic is increasing and the casual fan base — which is what I call the groups or individuals who are not directly affiliated with a fighter or a team that’s participating — has grown steadily.”

In what was our fourth strait fight to go the distance. Rabbi Joshua Dombroff, AFS TEAM ASYLUM, made his debut in victory. Narrowly escaping with a 3 rd split decision over Joseph Tortorella, Victors MMA. This fight was nip and tuck and could have gone either way.

In another competitive bout, Renzo Gracie/P.A.’s youthful Jamie Allebach followed with a 3 rd unanimous decision over Jorge Del Valle, a very well coached athlete from Rosky Combat Sports.

The following fight was one that many interested mma junkies were anxious to witness. Two immovable forces entered the cage with BAD intentions. We had the stand up skills of Rashid Evans, AFS TEAM ASYLUM, vs the world class wrestling background of Kyle “KB” Bilquist, J the D Fight Team. Bilquist came out on top in winning a 3 rd unanimous decision but not before he felt the fury and power of the very dangerous Evans. We look forward to the future success we expect both these gladiators to achieve.
